TYPES OF SALT IN THE MARKET

TABLE SALT
It is sodium chloride with additional of iodine. Table salt is currently produced by evaporation of sea water or brine. Usually it is from brine wells or salt lakes. Other than cooking, salt also used in manufacturing of pulp and paper, produce soap and so on.

KOSHER SALT
It is coarse-grained and free of additives that tend to cause pickling solutions to cloud. Kosher salt has a much larger grain size than regular table salt, and a more open granular structure.

SEA SALT
Sea salt is believed to be better than ordinary table salt in taste and texture. It is also coarse and unrefined sea salt contains many minerals that regular iodized table salt does not contain, such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, and sulfate. Sea salt generally lacks high concentrations of iodine an element essential for human health, it is not necessarily a healthful substitute for regular iodized table salt.

BLACK SEA
lt It is usually found in Indian markets and is strong in flavor. It is an unrefined mineral salt that is actually pinkish gray and has a strong sulfuric flavor. In traditional medicine, black salt is considered a cooling spice in Ayurvedic medicine.

BAMBOO SALT
Bamboo salt It is sea salt roasted in bamboo and contains more types of minerals balance that suitable for our body. It is originated from Korean traditional medicine practice.

ROCK SALT
Rock salt also called halite and it is inedible. It is the mineral form of NaCl, typically is colorless to yellow, sometime may also in light blue, dark blue, and pink depending on the amount and type of impurities. The primary use is to make ice cream. It is also used to clear highway from icing during winter.

HIMALAYAN SALT
This is a term used for marketing of rock salt from Pakistan.
